Requirements
A degree in Psychology and/or experience in Social work, Education/Special Education/Music Therapy or a related field required, with extensive knowledge in the field of Autism/Asperger’s, developmental disabilities, and behavior analysis.

Additionally, familiarity with non-traditional therapy (e.g. speech, music, art) and knowledge of Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) and/or Relationship Development Integration (RDI), would be an advantage.

Should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Description
The job requirements, whilst not exhaustive, entail the following:

The candidate should establish a safe and supportive environment, one where the candidate will have adequate influence to enhance behavioral, living and social skills through non traditional and applied therapies.

The candidate should facilitate social inclusion through the following:

Facilitate remedial programmes for cognitive behavioral therapy and enhancement.
Facilitate enhance and encourage social conversation, skills, conduct and reasoning.
Developing attentiveness to social communication and facial expressions.
Enhance the importance of non-verbal communication.
Encourage and motivate active social participation.
Accepting communication repair skills-(staying on topic)
Facilitate expressing and understanding complex emotional states
Explain and teach alternate means of seeking assistance

The candidate should maintain an encouraging and motivating atmosphere through:

Providing order and consistency
Improving motivation
Providing supervision and encouragement to phase out jerky quick repetitive activities/actions.
Strategies to help understand emotion
Techniques to relieve stress and encourage relaxation
Attend to counseling issues and Approaches
